Add or update any fields to your existing HubSpot deals, contacts and companies
In this article, we will walk you through how to update your existing contacts, companies and/or deals in HubSpot with additional fields from any external source. (We'll use contacts in the example here, but you can follow the same steps to update deals and companies as well).
1. Prepare the import file
First, you'll prepare the CSV file with your contact data. Even if your file contains more fields than you need to update, you can leave all columns intact and decide later which ones to map (no file clean-up needed!). You can use any spreadsheet software to create the file - just make sure to save the file in CSV format.
2. Update Contacts
Now that you have the CSV file ready, let's import this data into HubSpot.
- First setup a free Import2 Wizard account
- Use "Start New Update" button to initiate new HubSpot update
- On the mappings step, map the fields you want to be updated from your CSV. You can refer to this mapping guide for help if needed
- Now login into your HubSpot account and check that the contact fields were updated accurately
